Kizzie Mabberley, Aston Fredericks, James Warnes, Archie Lucas, Alfie Hughes, Josh Parker, Zach Churchill and Steven Godden represented Eagles House by attending the District Try Angle Awards on 4 Dec at the Ramsgate Youth Centre.
Amidst over 100 nominations across Kent, the students of Eagles won the category award for Community Action after raising almost £3500 in recent years for charity. As the top fundraisers over the last three years these 8 students were invited to represent the 90 students overall who have participated in events.
We had the famous 2015 KES to Paris Challenge which involved using the school gym to run the distance from KES to Dover, row from Dover to Calais and cycle from Calais to Paris, all raising money for Cancer Resear UK and Breast Cancer Care.
In 2017 students stayed awake from 8 pm — 8 am in the school sports hall in the All Nighter Lock In event, participating in sporting physical activities and raising money for Barnardo’s.
In 2018 we hosted Formula Run, where the challenge was to complete the equivalent distance of all twenty F1 race tracks on the school running track — raising money for the Pilgrims Hospice.
This award is thoroughly deserved to the House and the students involved and they should be rightly proud of themselves for making such a difference to the lives of others. Well done Eagles!
