On the 28th of January year 8 students took part in a workshop with Emma from Zoolab. Zoolab over many years, has successfully delivered imaginative animal handling workshops to children all across the UK .
The workshop we attended taught us about the classification of different types of animals. There were hands on experiences with snails, cockroaches and millipede.
The workshop also helped some of the students to overcome their fears and phobias of snakes and spiders.
Our science teacher Miss Rebera really wanted us to gain two things from Zoolab, “I wanted you all to realise that science is something that you encounter and use every day by providing you all with information about exactly how scientists group. I also wanted to provide you all with hands on experience of animal classification and ultimately have fun doing science!”

10y3 Citizenship class invited Sir Roger Gale MP to watch its dodgeball match and dance workshop they organised on 20th January.
The project was to promote sport and a healthy lifestyle to the younger students. There was a great turn out with over 50 Year 7 and 8 students giving up their lunchtime to play dodgeball or dance. Mr Gale then spent time with 10y3 in their lesson talking to them about the work he does and the importance of working as a team to achieve results.
I am really proud of what the students were able to organise and put together, they should be congratulated on a very successful project which contributes to their final citizenship controlled assessment.
