On Friday 12th October, 15 of our Y12 Business and English students visited Thorpe Park for the day.
They attended a marketing workshop, and then got to spend some time trying out the rides!
Wednesday 10th October was World Mental Health day. In recognition of this, students from across the school worked hard to plan and organise workshops to raise awareness of the importance of well — being. They also held a cake sale to fundraise for a charity called Young Minds.
Students and staff enjoyed a range of activities from baking, mindful colouring in, making ceramic pinch pots, creating journals and leaving positive messages of gratitude, to simply making time to chat over a cup of tea and wearing an item of yellow to raise awareness.
On Saturday 6th October, students from KES took part in the annual Margate Rotary Club Swimathon. They were sponsored to take part by friends and family, and the money raised will be donated to charity.
They worked tremendously hard as a team swimming in relay as many lengths as possible in 50 minutes. Scarlet Parnell and Maisie McLaughin managed an impressive 141 lengths as a team of two, breaking the King Ethelbert record to date. A huge well done to all!
