Goodbye Year 11

Year 11 have been a phenomenal year group throughout their time at KES and they will be sadly missed by teachers and younger pupils alike. Headed by Gail Soal, they have been consistent in their approach to their studies achieving success academically and vocationally. This is a credit to them fundamentally and to all the KES staff who have supported them along their journey.
On Tuesday 24th June Year 11 attended their Leavers Prom at Boughton Golf Club. The boys looked smart and the girls beautiful. The students enjoyed themselves immensely, fine dining and the girls dancing the night away in challenging footwear. The feedback from the venue was glowing and it has to be said that the students were a credit to themselves and the school.
Then on Thursday 26th June, pupils arrived at the school in various modes of transport ranging from a Military Tank to a Lorry. Once again the pupils were dressed smartly and elegantly in preparation for their Leavers Assembly. It would be the last time the pupils would sit in the hall together as a Year Group.
The pupils enjoyed and appreciated the efforts made by their tutors who delivered entertaining presentations to them. There were poems, embarrassing photos and ‘most likely to medals’. There were laughs, hugs, thank you’s and tears. But most obvious was the bond between the pupils and their teachers and the understanding that they will always be a part of the KES family no matter how much time may pass.
So this is definitely not a goodbye class of 2014 but a see you later!
