Why we study maths …

Three Year 11 students, Oliver Boorman, William Cloughley and Danny Kennard were ‘Tampered Evidence’! They performed four ‘rock’ numbers and brought the house down at the Winter Gardens as part of the entertainment for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Presentation Evening on Thursday 28th March.
Special thanks to Mr Boorman for all his technical assistance on the night with microphones and sound systems. It was a great evening and I urge the current Year 11 D of E students who successfully completed their expedition sections to get their other sections completed so we can have a smaller event after school one night next term to present their certificates and badges.
On Thursday 27 March 2014, a group of year 8 students joined together from King Ethelbert and Dane Court Grammar School, to do a BBC school report. There were podcasts, newspapers and live broadcasts all made by us students. Nicola Wood, Sam Cutler Mckenizie , Ben Mallory, Ellie Cornwall and Reece Grieg all participated in the live broadcast a long side other Dane Court pupils. Joe Marsh and Ellie Cornwall took control of the newspaper report and the finished products are up on King Ethelbert, Dane Court and BBC websites for everyone else to enjoy. We all had a lot of fun and have all got a lot more confidence. We never thought that we would end up on the BBC website. We were really proud of the finished product.
We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
