Key Stage 3
Years 7, 8 and 9 are grouped according to ability and follow a curriculum which includes learning in the following areas:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- Design
- Music
- Drama
- History
- Geography
- Religious Studies
- Physical Education (including dance and team sports)
- Citizenship
- Modern Languages
- Information and Communication Technology
- Personal, Social and Health Education

Key Stage 4
During Year 9 students need to make choices regarding the subjects they will study for the following two years. The majority of students undertake level 2 courses, whereas some students will follow a bespoke technical pathway combining Level 2 & Leve1 courses.
Level 2 and Technical Pathway
All students must follow GCSE courses in the following subjects:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
They must also undertake the following general courses:
- Personal, Social and Health Education
- Physical Education
- Careers Education and Guidance
Level 2 Pathway Only
The above accredited and general courses form the core of the Key Stage 4 level 2 programme. In addition each student must choose 4 courses, at least one of which must be an EBacc GCSE subject and at least one applied/vocational course from a range of BTECs.
