The art and design department is a central pivot around which many aspects of school life revolve and benefit through the enrichment of pupil self-esteem, confidence and the promotion of positive self motivation.

It is the intention of the Art and Design department to provide a learning experience that stimulates both creativity and imagination, helping pupils to develop a unique way of responding to, understanding and interacting with the world around them.

Through Art and Design pupils learn to make informed value judgements and practical decisions by exploring ideas and meanings.

They use colour, form, texture, pattern and a range of media to communicate what they see, feel and think enabling them to experience and celebrate personal success with the rest of the school, the local community and beyond.
