During Year 10, as part of their enterprise education, pupils take part in a Business of Enterprise competition. Run by the East Kent Education Business Partnership (EKEBP), it is launched at the Winter Gardens, during January, where pupils take part in a number of workshops related to running a business. During the following 10 weeks, in their PSHE lessons, teams of 6-8 pupils develop their business idea, business plan and presentation. Business mentors work with them advising them on how best to develop their ideas. During April, they compete in an In School Final and the winner goes on to compete against 15 other schools at Pfizer.

Over the last three years King Ethelbert pupils have been very successful, winning Best presenetation, Best Written presentation and the Regional Final, beating 10,000 other pupils.
