Achievement

Everyone works better when the good work they do is recognised.  Your teachers will praise enthusiasm, effort and achievement in a variety of ways; to reward exceptional effort and achievement on a particular piece of work, or over a period of time, your teachers will use the school commendation system.  Recognition may also be earned for anything which you do that sets a new standard for you personally, or for others to follow; for example, good conduct, helpfulness, leadership and other qualities which make a genuine contribution to school life.

At King Ethelbert School we recognise achievement in the following areas:

  • Effort
  • Quality of work
  • Quality of presentation
  • Helpfulness
  • Good progress
  • Leadership
  • School representation
  • Support of school events
  • Good attendance
  • Pupil mentoring

During Key Stage 4 you will be developing a personal record of achievement, your progress file, certificates, letters of commendation and evidence of achievement, in or out of school, should be included.
