Whether we like them or not, exams and tests are a very important part of school life. There are internal exams and tests (mock exams, progress tests etc.) which provides us with information as to how well you are doing, and allows us to make judgements as to your most appropriate education. There are also external examinations (GCSEs, SATS etc.) which are marked by examination bodies. These are national tests. GCSEs, GNVQs and NVQs are studied at Key Stage 4 (years 10 and 11) and are extremely important as they are often required by both further education establishments to enable you to continue your education beyond the age of 16 and by employers who use these as an indication as to whether they will offer you work. On the right there are links to show all known exam dates and tips for succeeding in examinations. These tips include links to examination body websites where you will be able to access past papers. |
