Comments from the winners:
Our idea was called ‘Reliance Watch’. We first thought of our idea and how we would make the materials, develop the marketing and calculate prices. Shannon and Cameron drew and designed the watch. Since this watch is for the deaf and blind we decided to contact the KAB (Kent Association for the Blind) to see what they thought of the idea and they loved it and wanted us to present it to them. This watch is made to help the deaf and blind throughout day to day life and it has a rounded triangle shape to stand out to make it unique. To show it to EBP (East Kent Business Partnership) we decided to make a presentation. We had to present it (back in February) in the school hall in front of our whole year group and 4 judges from EBP. We were selected as the runners up from our school and our business idea was entered into the County competition against all the other schools in the area. To improve our presentation, during lockdown, we made a short video explaining our ideas and presentation further. We feel very excited, overwhelmed and grateful that we won the ‘Best Marketing’ prize and we are happy that we got the opportunity to take part in this competition.
