Members of the KM Charity team, along with one of the sponsors of the KM Kent Cooks Competition, Southern Water, visited KES to spend some time talking to some of our year 9 students about the dangers of putting fat down the drain while cooking. They are running a campaign to raise awareness and providing free “fat traps” which they are trying to encourage ‘cooks’ to use in the kitchen to dispose of cooking fat and oil safely and in an environmentally responsible way.
For details on the Kent Cooks’ Competition please visit www.kentcooks.co.uk — Miss Rouse, Head of Food Technology, will be providing more information and guidance to any students who would like to enter.
