We’ve had the fol­low­ing mes­sage from thos co-​ordinating the KAH col­lec­tions for Ukraine:

As we begin another school week, we wanted to take the time to send you a mes­sage of thanks for the sup­port that your school com­mu­nity have shown to the peo­ple of Ukraine.

As of Sat­ur­day night, 8 HGV lor­ries have been sent to the Ukraine full with dona­tions from all across Kent. We are for­tu­nate that our lor­ries are cur­rently get­ting directly into the Ukraine to those that need it more. Many aid vehi­cles are only allowed as far as Poland/​the boarders.

On behalf of all the team at Bigjigs/​Kent Help for Ukraine, please pass on our sin­cere thanks to your pupils, par­ents, staff and wider com­mu­nity for their tremen­dous effort in pro­vid­ing aid for those fam­i­lies in Ukraine. We look for­ward to con­tin­u­ing to sup­port this project in the weeks ahead.

It’s great to see that our dona­tions are on their way to the peo­ple who need them most. We are still tak­ing dona­tions, although they have asked for no more clothes or soft toys, and instead there is an updated list of the things they are most in need of at the moment.
