The Great Thanet Cookbook

nicola20013 Year 13 stu­dents held their Ser­vice learn­ing project at Quex Barn on the 23rd Novem­ber, with rag­ing suc­cess they are pleased to say they have so far raised over £200 for the char­ity Porchlight.

They did this with the cre­ation of “The Great Thanet Cook­book” which was sold at £5 each at the barn. As well as the book launch there was gin­ger­bread men dec­o­rat­ing, a raf­fle and also deli­cious tasters from the cook­book itself.

The IBCC enti­tles the stu­dents to pro­vide a ser­vice to the com­mu­nity and with what was achieved on Sun­day they have been able to ful­fil their mis­sion state­ment “Embrac­ing cul­tural diver­sity to strengthen com­mu­nity ties whilst inspir­ing gen­er­a­tions through a show­case of what Thanet can accom­plish by shar­ing recipes and stories”,
