On Wednesday 25th June, students from year 7 and 9 went to visit Shakespeare’s Globe, London.
The day included multiple activities such as: a Macbeth workshop, a live sword fighting demonstration and a guided tour of the stage.
During the workshop we spent time taking part in activities about Shakespeare’s play Macbeth. Even Miss and Sir took part!! We did role play and overall it was really fun.
The sword fighting was amazing; they would rehearse the fights like a dance. They used many different skills whilst demonstrating! They used a rapier and a dagger during one demonstration, a long sword in another and finally used long poles with knives on the end. Within the exhibition there was a display which showed what men wore (as women characters) in the Shakespearean times and we were able to look at these closely and understand how it would have felt underneath all those layers!
We all enjoyed the trip and would definitely go again!
