GCSE Results 2015

KES Students 200King Ethelbert School is celebrating another set of fantastic examination results this summer with 53% of students achieving 5A* — C grades including English and Maths. 74% of students achieved a A*-C in English and 60% in Maths. As well as this headline figure which has again smashed government targets the school has also a very high percentage of students getting the top grade of A and A* in all the subjects.

The results show clearly that the students have made exceptional progress during their time at King Ethelbert from the starting point they had in Year 7.

Kate Greig, Headteacher, said “these are yet again wonderful results and make us the highest achieving non-selective school in Thanet for the third year running. We have a fantastic staff who work so hard and do everything that needs to be done to ensure success for each individual. The students are a complete credit to their school and to the local community and we should all be celebrating their considerable achievements. What is so important is that the students have got the grades they need in order to progress to the next part of their education, be it our sixth form, other post-16 courses or apprenticeships. They are a wonderful set of young people and we are all so proud of them. “

This fantastic set of GCSE examination results come on the back of the superb IBCC Sixth Form results the school achieved in July. Vicky Willis, Deputy Headteacher said “ we are thrilled that so many of our students have not only met, but exceeded our high expectations and our Sixth Form will be growing even bigger and better continuing with our current 100% pass rate.”

Paul Luxmoore, Executive Headteacher, said “King Ethelbert is a school that is going places and its academic record is becoming hard to match.”

Individual results show many students achieving top academic success including:

Maia Cocks (13 GCSEs) including 5 X A, 7 x B grades
