On Monday 19th June the year 12 Geography IB group attended a data collection trip to Herne Bay, Reculver and Bishopstone. The students are completing their IA element based on the North Kent coast and coastal management. The conditions couldn't have been any better (although the bugs at Reculver were a bit tricky to contend with!)
The students all behaved impeccably and worked hard to complete the data collection for their IA.
All students are now working hard on their IA write up.
Also this term all Year 10 geography students had the opportunity to collect data whilst on a trip to Whitstable. Both days were very successful and the geography department is very proud of the way the majority of students conducted themselves in the field.
The Tuesday morning group had to contend with rain - which showed their resilience as field work was still conducted - even if under a blazer umbrella!
The heat made Whitstable very busy on Thursday and so the afternoon group conducted their data collection at Tankerton.
The students have been able to collect data that will now be used in the classroom for a follow up write up and is vital for the questions they will be asked for their paper 3 final examination next year.
