Health and Social Care is one of the fastest growing sectors for employment in the UK and there are a range of exciting professions within the sector that you will be ready to enter, via employment or apprenticeship, or study further at University. The course includes 100 hours of work experience and units on human lifespan development, public health promotion, nutrition and anatomy and physiology.

Students who studied Health and Social Care at King Ethelbert School earned University places to study Midwifery, Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Primary School Teaching, Paramedic Science, Psychology and Health Policy. Many of these ex-students are now practicing and thoroughly enjoying the daily challenges presented in these vital roles.

Course information

Students will have to option to complete an extended Diploma (equivalent of 3 A Levels and up to 168 UCAS points), or a Diploma (equivalent of two A levels and up to 112 UCAS points).

Other professions accessed through Health and Social Care are: Physiotherapist, Occupational therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Play Therapist, Counsellor, Dental Nurse, Physician Associate, Mental Health Worker, Radiographer.
